My Scarf

Ok, so I started a scarf using Rowan Big Wool at £7.99 a ball. I used the ball I had and upon realising I'd need three more I knew I'd have to wait to finish it til I could afford the rest of the wool. My parents came to the rescue and sent me the money so I could buy myself the wool from them for Christmas. I bought it, and I finished the scarf (with permission to use the wool before Christmas) and it's so gorgeous and snuggly! No more cold mornings for my neck/chin!!

Sarah's Scarf

All done, gorgeous! There are a few imperfections where the yarn was joined but that adds to handmade character doesn't it?

Tiny Gloves

Am knitting some gloves for my sister in law, have a horrible feeling they're going to be too small! But then again, she does have freakishly small hands, we might be ok!!

Finished Projects

I have now finished Mum's gloves, Abigail Bunny and Ed the Monkey. Ordered the gorgeous new wool from eBay so I'm waiting for it to arrive.

I woke up with a pain in my back / neck about 10 days ago now and it's still bad, I think it's from the way I sit when I'm knitting, desperately trying to ease it!

Just seen 'Handy Manny' pull in to the close! Excellent stuff!

Obsession

Ok, so I should probably come clean now. I have a small shoe obsession, that is a small obsession with shoes, not an obsession with small shoes!

Abigail Bunny

As before this bunny is a mixture of Debi Birkin's Bunty Bunny with the stylings of Little Cotton Rabbits. I have, however, modified this pattern myself with inspiration from the two other bunnies.

Finally Up To Date

Having not blogged for a long long time I thought I'd post all the little goodies that have dropped off my needles. Am still thoroughly enjoying knitting and am gradually working my way towards a HUGE knitted blanket made up of different designed squares. 4 done, 200 to go!!!!

I am 2 1/2 stone lighter than I was in May, knitting has played a massive part in my evening 'knit don't snack' routine so it's all coming together, my wish to be thin (ish) and my love of knitting!

I have joined my local knitting club with my sister in law who is just learning so once a month we go along and have a nosey at what everyone else is knitting. A lot of it isn't my thing but some gems are emerging!

The knitting group may also help me in my quest to learn crochet, the two go hand in hand yet I just can't seem to get to grips with the hook!

Easter Cosy

Little Cotton Rabbits (website adress in post earlier today) have this egg cosy pattern for sale, worth every blimmin penny, I love it! This one was for my Mum on Mothers Day.

Franklin's Penguin

My nephew Franklin was born in July, he deserved one of my knits so I made him a penguin! Pattern from a book a friend of mine bought me on eBay!

Bunty Bunny

This Debbi Berkin pattern is really easy to knit, I changed the ears on the second one though as I preferred the look of them in moss stitch. Bits of this pattern really helped me making my own bunny pattern (as seen in other post from today). Have had a few 'make me one' requests after people saw these!

Happy Fingers

Mum gave me a pattern, yarn and 5 double pointed needles to make gloves, she has said they don't have to be for her but I will give them to her! I have made one, my first attempt to knit on four needles, it's not too bad, but I expect I'll make 2 more and keep this one as a size guide for future gloves as there's a few things I want to improve on!

Rabbits

As those of you who know me are well aware I have been trying to perfect a rabbit pattern for over a year now! Inspiration came from www.littlecottonrabbits.typepad.co.uk. She makes stunning bunnies and the little jumpers are so beautiful. I am trying now to put my own spin on them so they're not just a copied version, but meet Flo and Hank

Ed the chunky monkey

Have been really playing about with my monkey pattern, I love this new 'fatter' version, he is currently living in a red and white stripy jumper

Am testing this one

This is a tester blog, am attempting to start blogging from my iPod

Daisy May Anna-Louise

My friend has had a baby and named her Daisy so I have made her a monkey.

Easter Lamb

The Easter lamb. I'm not 100% pleased with him but I know where I went wrong so I can tweak the design for the next one

Easter Chicks

As part of an Easter basket here are two chicks, they'll join another chick in an egg, two small knitted Easter Eggs and a lamb.

Baker Monkey

A friend of mine makes fabulous cakes, and as a surprise I made her a baker monkey in her own image. She loved her!

Wildcat Monkey

My niece, a big High School Musical fan, loves 'Chad' so I adapted my pattern to make a Chad for her birthday. She loves him! As do I, his hair is fab! I threaded each piece of 'hair' one by one.

Monkey Twins

These were for someone's daughters, with their initials on their dresses.
